So, my first ever blog post.
I guess I should start off by saying that I am not a mama (unless you count my fur babies). Oliver is our 5 y/o chiweenie. He is tiny but ferocious and he loves to play with any tennis ball he can fit his lil’ mouth around. Callie is our 2 y/o beagle mix. She is always so happy and thinks she’s a lap dog… Of course when dogs THINK they are lap dogs, they really aren’t.
So, I consider myself a mama since I clean up toys, blankets, and food crumbs on a daily basis, and that’s just from my fiance Dillon! I do share the qualities of a Modified Mama! I am a young woman who is definitely a work in progress… I change every single day, and I love the direction that I’m headed. Christ has a lot to do with that y’all and believe me when I say that He is ALWAYS listening. Even if it feels like you’re alone.
Becoming a better person, for myself, is a great feeling. I feel accomplished and content with the fact that I’m more rounded. But changing for someone I love, that is a whole other kind of feeling. Hope, strength, the drive to push for more… It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
On our homepage, there are several bullets that describe what makes up an MM. And “Women who are changed by love” is my absolute fave. In a short and sweet version, I would not be the woman I am today without Dillon… I was in a pretty dark place when we met, and even though we have gone through the “up’s and down’s” that EVERY couple goes through, he has shown me what true love is… I can’t wait to grow in our marriage, in Christ, and everything in between. 150 days until we tie the knot, and we couldn’t be happier!
Deuteronomy 31:8 The LORD is the one who is going ahead of you. He will be with you. He won’t abandon you or leave you. So don’t be afraid or terrified.
Moving forward with life is scary and unpredictable. Moving 1,700 miles away from the only home you’ve ever known is a HUGE step. But when the chance popped up for Dillon and I to really start a new life together; moving into our first home, picking up new jobs, planning our wedding, etc., we just couldn’t pass it up!
I plan on sharing all of my DIY projects, with my wedding and our new home, as soon as I get this blogging ball rollin’. BTW, I would love to hear about anything you would like me to write about. Mix it up a little!
So bare with me, and I’ll talk to y’all soon!
