I went shopping the other day. Without the kids. I was out of the house for about 4 hours and it. was. glorious.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I absolutely love my children, and I love spending time with them. But a mama needs some retail therapy now and again. Y’all know it’s true.
So, I got my niece to hit the road with me. Mind you, this is my niece that is currently living with us while she decides about college and she is our son’s week day PCA. She needed the respite time, too. We got our plan on where we were going and literally skipped out the door the minute our every other weekend PCA showed up.
Our first stop was Ever Eve, which is having a Fall Clearance Sale! I tried on about 15 outfits, and the sales lady kept bringing me more. She knows me because it’s my absolute favorite place to shop for my “momiform”. Also, I once had a fundraiser at that store and plan on doing it again. So much fun! I plan on writing about that in the future.
I digress. I fell in love with the first pair of jeans I tried on and literally didn’t take them off until I was about to leave. Articles of Society Sarah Skinny Jeans. LOVE them. Black, distressed, and raw hemmed. Just enough attitude to let all the people know mama don’t play around.
I tried on a top that I thought was super cute on the hanger but gaped open at the girls (see in the photos below). Nobody needs to see that. Next.
Then I tried on the softest black sweater I’ve ever had on my body. Normally I wouldn’t wear black on black but I think I might. They go so well together. This is the Sid Cold Shoulder from Project Social T.
I ended up buying the jeans, that PST, and this amazing top: the Abby Poplin Off Shoulder by Sanctuary. It is perfect to wear to work and out and about with the kids or on a date night in the Cities.
After we shopped until we dropped, we had to grocery shop. So, while we did get a few hours out without the kids, we still had duties to be done or everyone starves. A mama’s job is never done, amiright? #DressLikeAMom
